Peace Camp: Hiroshima Peace Culture Study Tour

At Peace Camp, we work together to learn peace in a concrete, hands-on way. We hold weekend Peace Camps a few times a year, each with a specific theme and teacher. In honor of the recent anniversaries of the atomic bombings on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, this Peace Camp will be held at both Peace Culture Village and in downtown Hiroshima City.

We will begin the weekend in Hiroshima City where Steve Leeper, former chairman of the Hiroshima Peace Culture Foundation, will guide us through the museum and Peace Park. After learning about the message of Hiroshima, we will relocate to PCV in order to look more deeply at the concept of “peace culture” and think about how to incorporate the concept into our homes, communities, and daily lives.

This workshop is for you if:
- you’d like to visit Hiroshima
- you visited Hiroshima but didn’t get as much out of it as you would have liked
- you’re interested in agriculture, rural living, and the connection between simple living and peace
